Garden to Vase | Clare Monica Day

Over the past summer and fall, I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside Clare Monica Day to create visual content for her digital course in cultivating cut flowers. Clare is a master gardener and floral designer who I have been lucky enough to learn from and work with over the last few seasons. Days in her garden never felt like work and the hours would disappear as we arranged florals in her studio. Her knowledge in both growing and designing flowers is truly inspiring.

With spring just around the corner, now is the perfect time to be planning your garden. The course she has created is a step-by-step guide in designing, creating and tending a cut flower garden using the best organic techniques. You will also learn everything you need to know to grow a mix of annuals, perennials, bulbs, and flowering shrubs and vines. Registration for her course begins this Thursday, March 10th and closes on the 14th so make sure to sign up! Also, for those who register, you will have access to my Q+A with Clare all about how to photograph your garden and arrangements.

Below are some of my favourite images from our time in the garden together. I hope they bring you inspiration and excitement for the growing season ahead.

Whimsical Floral Tutorial for Style Me Pretty Living

During a recent trip to LA, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Primary Petals, a talented floral design studio based in Southern California. We wanted to create an editorial piece focused on a whimsical styled centerpiece, full of rich, wild greens, gorgeous blooms and pops of deep colour.

Special thanks to Style Me Pretty Living for running this piece as a feature. You can head over there to read the full tutorial on how to design one of these beautiful arrangements yourself!

Clover + Chris

Clover + Chris's beautiful coastal bohemian wedding was definitely a highlight of my summer. The wedding took place on the Sunshine Coast, a remote place that is accessed only by boat. The coast line there is breathtaking and I had the pleasure of spending a couple days there exploring, photographing and swimming (with phosphorescence, magical!)

This wedding was also really special to me because Chris and so many of the guests came from Scotland, a place very dear to me. I spent an entire summer studying abroad there and fell completely in love with the landscape, culture and people. Being at this wedding took me right back to my travels.

Thanks to Spread Love Events for all the beautiful styling, florals and planning and the Rock Water Secret Cove Resort, an amazing venue! Congrats Chris + Clover, xo!
